Why desert bound?
Most people hear the word bound and think it means headed somewhere, and it does, but it can also mean connected to something, tied to it, or belonging to it.
We believe that the desert still offers something many of us are searching for, even if we don't realize it. In a world filled with noise, distraction, and constant movement, the desert remains honest. It strips away the unnecessary. It invites us to slow down and pay attention.
The desert reminds us that we are not separate from the natural world, we belong to it. We are desert bound not because we are escaping civilization, but because we are returning to something older and more fundamental. A sense of wonder. A connection to the land. An awareness of our place in the universe.
Every canyon, every trail, every night beneath the stars is an invitation to come back to that.

My name is Braxton Adams, and I founded Desert Bound Adventures because I wanted to share the experiences that have shaped my life.
I've spent years exploring the deserts, mountains, and canyons of the American Southwest. For the last 6 years, I've worked as a guide in the southwest, conducting canyoneering, climbing, backpacking, hiking, and of course, stargazing tours. I've climbed glaciated peaks, descended remote slot canyons, spent many nights under the stars and worked with youth in experiential and wilderness-based programs.
Some of the moments that have stayed with me the longest weren't the biggest adventures, they were the little moments in between, like laying on my back watching the Milky Way or the moon rise over the desert, sharing campfire stories beneath the stars, discovering the beautiful oases at the bottom of slot canyons, and looking through a telescope and realizing that the faint smudge in the eyepiece is an entire galaxy, millions of light years away.
Those experiences changed the way I see the world. I created Desert Bound Adventures to share that feeling with others. When you join us, you're not just signing up for a tour. You're joining us around a campfire, or in a canyon, in a landscape that has inspired wonder for thousands of years. I'm grateful for the opportunity to share it with you.
