Good to Know

Before You Go

Everything you need to know before booking your desert adventure.

What Is Canyoneering?

Canyoneering is the sport of exploring slot canyons using a combination of hiking, scrambling, rappelling, and sometimes swimming. Near Zion, it means descending through millions of years of carved sandstone with expert guides by your side every step of the way.

What Is Stargazing Like Near Zion?

The skies near Zion National Park are some of the darkest in North America. On a clear night, you'll see the Milky Way, shooting stars, and planets with the naked eye. Even more through our professional telescopes.

Do I need experience to go canyoneering?

Not at all! Our beginner tours are designed for first-timers. We teach you everything — from rope handling to rappelling technique — before you ever step off the edge.

What should I bring?

Sturdy closed-toe shoes, at least 1 liter of water per person, sun protection, and clothes you don't mind getting a little dirty. We provide all technical gear including harnesses, helmets, and ropes.

Are the tours family-friendly?

Yes! Our stargazing tours welcome guests of all ages. Canyoneering and rappelling tours require a minimum age of 8.

What happens if it rains?

Safety is our top priority. If weather conditions are unsafe, we'll reschedule your tour at no extra charge or provide a full refund. Flash flood risk means we closely monitor weather forecasts before every trip.
